The BRAHMA Project

Probing Black Hole Origins

About the BRAHMA Project

The BRAHMA project seeks to uncover the origins of supermassive black holes—one of the most compelling open questions in astrophysics. BRAHMA is a comprehensive suite of cosmological simulations that incorporate state-of-the-art models for the formation of the first black hole "seeds" in the early universe. These simulations are designed to make direct predictions for current and upcoming observational facilities, including the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) and the Laser Interferometer Space Antenna (LISA), across both electromagnetic and gravitational wave signals.
